Tata Nexon IPL Edition Revealed; Gets Fancy Visual Makeovers

Tata Motors is the official partner for the biggest sporting event in the country, the Vivo IPL 2018. Ahead of the opening match, captains of 8 leading franchisees participating autographed a Nexon with the aim to increase awareness about the soaring cancer plague in India. The SUV will be auctioned and the proceeds will go to Tata Cancer Care Trust as an extended support for the affected.

Tata’s cooperation with the ace cricketing league results in aiding research for cancer with the captains’ autographed vehicle. The Nexon is on display at every calendar event the IPL is going through and as a token of appreciation the Man of the Series in this edition will receive the subcompact SUV. To celebrate the flamboyant 20/20 season, Tata has created Nexon IPL Edition.

Tata Nexon IPL Edition 7

The special edition is done up in Liquid Silver colour and with the body graphics signifying Mumbai Indians. The roof, white ivory accented elements and rear bumper are now finished in blue colour while up front the fog lamp housing, lower part of the front bumper, black bonnet stripes, ORVM casing and one spoke of the 16-inch machined alloy wheels are painted yellow.

Mumbai Indians’ official Sudarshan Chakra graphics can also be witnessed on the front fenders as well as the boot lid. No mechanical changes have obviously been made as the Nexon continues with 1.2-litre Revotron petrol and 1.5-litre Revotorq diesel engine options. The turbocharged petrol motor is good enough to produce a maximum power output of 110 PS and 170 Nm torque.

Tata Nexon IPL Edition 1

The diesel mill, most powerful in the segment, develops 110 PS and 260 Nm. Both the engines are mated to a six-speed manual transmission and bookings for six-speed AMT option have just begun for Rs. 11,000 across all the authorised showrooms. It is yet unknown whether the dealer-made IPL Edition will be available for customers or not.
