Tata Motors To Introduce AMT In Lower Variants Of Nexon

Tata Nexon AMT Booking Officially Commence In India For Rs. 11,000 (Nexon Hyprdrive Self-Shift Gears)

The AMT is currently available only in top end variants and introducing it in lower variants will further improve sales of the compact SUV

Tata Motors registered record growth last months thanks to new products. Among the recent launches, Nexon is the most popular product for the Indian manufacturer which helped the company to improve its UV sales. During the official launch, Tata Motors confirmed that they will introduce more variants of Nexon in the coming months to keep the momentum going forward.

Tata Motors officially introduced Nexon AMT last week in India. But the AMT was available only in top end variant of petrol and diesel model. Now the company is planning to introduce AMT in lower variants to further improve sales of the compact SUV. The main competitors of Nexon didn’t offer automatic in lower variants which is why the company is planning to introduce AMT in lower diesel variants.

Tata-Nexon-AMT-Gear-Console.jpgThe Nexon AMT will be offered in XMA and XZA grades just like XZA+ top end variant. Both these variants will offer same features from their manual model. The XMA comes with follow-me-home headlamps, infotainment system with four speakers, multi-function steering wheel with audio, phone and voice controls, rear parking sensors and more.

The XZA get all these features along with 6.5 inch touch screen infotainment system with Android Auto, four speakers with four tweeters, navigation system, shark-fin antenna, cooled glove box, climate control, height adjustable driver seat, fast USB charger, reverse camera, body-coloured door handles, roof rails, LED DRLs and electrically adjustable OVRMs.

Tata Nexon AMT Side ProfileThe Nexon AMT is powered by 1.5 L RevoTorq engine producing 110 hp of power and 260 Nm of torque. The power output is identical to the manual model.  Tata Motors offer ECO, City and Sport along with trip tronic option for manual shifting gears. To help the drivers, the company has given hill start assist and creep function for Nexon AMT.

The top end diesel AMT model is priced at a premium of Rs. 70,200 so we can expect the XMA to be priced at Rs. 8.54 lakh and Rs. 9.69 lakh for XZA. Maruti Suzuki will soon offer AMT on Vitara Brezza and this move from Tata Motors comes at a right moment as the competition is going to heat up even further.
