Launch of Tata Nano Diesel Variant delayed
To all the car buyers who were enthusiasts about Tata Nano diesel variant launch, hold your excitement for sometime more. Sadly, Tata Motors has put the plan of launching its diesel-powered Nano on hold as the company is currently focusing more on its GenX Nano variant which is likely to uplift the sales of the most affordable Nano car.
With never ending dedication towards the Nano project, the company has been trying every means to make it a good selling car. To widen the reach of the Tata Nano, the company had announced to launch it with the diesel mill but the plan seems unfulfilled for now.
The main reason behind this delay of the Tata Nano diesel are the economics related issues and even the enhancement of the diesel engine. The company’s petrol mill already suffers when compared to other petrol engine, and if the diesel mill launches, it is likely that it will be in poorer condition than that which surely will be rejected on face by the Indian conscious car buyers.
Hence, in a way, delaying the plan to launch is better than launching a flop one. Enhancing the engine and NVH levels for sure will take a lot of time and with the components to be reworked, the company delaying the Tata Nano diesel launch isn’t wrong. One more reason that adds to the delay of Tata’s plan is the minimal difference in the price of petrol and diesel prices, which motivates the buyers to opt for petrol vehicles than diesel.
With the automatic transmission cars becoming popular in the country, Tata has shifted its focus from diesel to launch of its Nano AMT by launching the Nano GenX very soon. Speculations predict that the price tag of the GenX Nano will be somewhere under Rs.3.5 lakhs (on-road) which should a good reason for increasing the sales number of Nano in Tata’s sales chart. We wish Tata Motor the very best in the coming times with the Nano GenX launch.
