Tata Bolt hatchback receives massive order as it has tied up with Johannesburg-based Tempest Car Hire company for rental fleet
Tata Motors has bagged order for large number of Bolt hatchbacks, which will be used for car rental fleet of Johannesburg-based Tempest Car Hire company. The sporty looking hatchback has been launched in South Africa recently, and tempest Car Hire has partnered with the Indian automaker for the service. It will offer Tata Bolt for rent with 100 kilometers free per day.
Few days back it was rumored that, Tata Motors is about to discontinue Bolt hatchback. But the automaker confirmed that, it won’t discontinue Bolt hatchback despite its declining sales figure. Instead reports suggested, Tata Bolt will be offered in fleet market.

Speaking about Tempest Car Hire’s partnership with Tata Motors, Kyri Michael, the CEO of Accordian Investments has said that, new fleet of Tata Bolts will ensure many customers across the country will be able to experience the well equipped upmarket hatchback. The Accordian Investments markets and distributes Tata cars and commercial vehicles in South Africa.
Tata Bolt is a sporty looking upmarket hatchback from the automaker. It comes bearing fresh design language, and it sports several upmarket features inside cabin. The car gets smiling pattern front grille, sharp headlamps, alloy wheels, floating roof design, vertically positioned taillights. Inside the cabin, it comes with a touchscreen infotainment system which certainly increases its appeal further.

Power source options for Tata Bolt include both petrol and diesel engines. Petrol variant takes power from a 1.2-litre engine churning out 89 bhp of peak power and 140 Nm of peak torque. On the other hand, the diesel unit is a 1.2-litre engine kicking out 74 bhp of peak power and 190 Nm of peak torque. Transmission duty is done by a 5-speed manual gearbox in both petrol and diesel variants.
