Tata Likely To Showcase Two SUVs And Luxury Hatch At 2018 Auto Expo

Tata Motors is also working on a new hatchback and a full size sedan; aims 90% market coverage by 2020

Tata Motors is aiming to increase its share fast in the Indian market. In order to do so, the homegrown auto major is gearing up to roll out a range of new products. Among these products the company has almost finished the work on two new SUVs and a luxury hatchback that are expected to be uncovered at the upcoming 2018 New Delhi Auto Expo.

As we reported earlier Tata is preparing to introduce two premium SUVs in the country market next fiscal that are codenamed as Q501 and Q502. The first one is likely to be a five-seater and the Q502 would be a seven seater true-blue SUV. Both the cars would share structural components with Land Rover Discovery Sport. In terms of design too, they will come with inspiration from Land Rover SUVs.

tata-kite-5-sedanApart from that, the auto manufacturer is also preparing to introduce its premium hatchback codenamed as X451. As we already reported, it would arrive as a rival against the Maruti Suzuki Baleno, Hyundai Elite i20. The premium hatchback segment is experience pretty high demand from the buyers and Tata Motors doesn’t want to stay behind.

Apart from these products, Tata is also working on a new hatchback that would be positioned above the Tiago upon launch. A new full size sedan is also on the card that is likely to take on the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz. However, the company is tight lipped about the launch of these products. Overall, Tata Motors is aiming to cover 90% of the market by the end of 2020.

Currently, the company covers around 60% of the market and with the launch of its all-new compact SUV Nexon, Tata Motors will be able to cover 71% of the domestic market. To grab more market share and to lure the young buyers, Tata Motors is focusing on introducing new stylish and global standard design language, advanced upmarket features and efficient powertrain to its products. The philosophy is already visible in the products like Tiago, Tigor, Hexa and Nexon. Expect the upcoming products to carry the similar upmarket and stylish stance as well.
