In the month of May 2023, the sales of Tata Motors stood at 45,878 units domestically as against 43,341 units with a YoY growth of 6 per cent
Tata Motors has released a statement revealing its sales data for the month of May 2023 as 74,973 units were sold against 76,210 units during the same period last year with a minor YoY negative volume growth. The domestic sales of MH&ICV in May 2023, including trucks and buses, stood at 11,442 units as against 12,056 units in May 2022.
The total sales for MH&ICV domestic & international business in May 2023, including trucks and buses, stood at 11,958 units compared to 12,810 units. The third-largest car producer in the country posted a total of 45,878 units, including the sales of electric vehicles, last month as against 43,341 units during the same period in 2022 with a YoY growth of 6 per cent.
The passenger vehicle international business added 106 units to the tally against 51 units with a YoY growth of 108 per cent. The domestic and international electric vehicle sales stood at 5,805 units in the month of May 2023 against 3,505 units during the corresponding period in 2022 with a YoY volume increase of 66 per cent.
The total passenger vehicle sales, which include electric vehicles, stood at 45,984 units last month as against 43,392 units in May 2022 with a YoY positive volume increase of 6 per cent. Tata has the Nexon compact SUV and Punch micro SUV as its best sellers in the domestic market and the former is the most sold SUV in India monthly on a regular basis.
Only recently, Tata introduced the CNG version of the Altroz while the CNG iteration of the Punch will be launched later this year. The company is also developing facelifted avatars of the Nexon, Harrier and Safari. The heavily updated Nexon will draw inspiration from the Curvv concept showcased at the 2023 Auto Expo earlier this year.
It will feature a brand new 1.2L turbo DI petrol engine kicking out 125 PS and 225 Nm. It will be linked with a six-speed MT or a DCA. The Harrier and Safari facelifts will be inspired by the Harrier EV in terms of design and they will also get a new 1.5L DI turbocharged petrol engine.
