Like we already informed you earlier Tata Motors is planning to launch lot of new products soon including a micro SUV that will sit on top of their Tiago hatchback in the product lineup. However, unlike the Tiago NRG, this will actually be a Micro SUV. The Hornbill will most likely rival the likes of Mahindra KUV100 & Maruti Ignis as both looks unique in this segment.
The newest rendering of the upcoming Tata Hornbill gives us an idea that it will definitely borrow some of its design cues from the Nexon SUV. The Hornbill will get muscular design elements on its exterior so that it seems apart from the rest of the rivals. You can expect some typical Tata design elements like the Humanity line and also the latest grille which can usually be seen in some of their other products.
You also can expect bigger wheel arches which will most likely house slightly bigger wheels to give a big car feel to the Micro SUV, while it will most likely also feature plastic claddings on its side profile. Towards the rear profile, we also do believe the Micro SUV will likely also continue with the muscular styling.
Talking about the rear profile, in particular, you can even expect a Nexon like LED taillamps and slightly sporty bumper to add to the overall muscular yet sporty theme. The Hornbill will underpin Tata Motors ALPHA modular platform which will support almost all kind of their sub-4 meter cars. Although not many details about the upcoming car are available at this moment but like all Tata Motors recent products, you can expect the Hornbill too to feature a premium quality interior.
Under the hood, the upcoming Micro SUV will most likely get the same Tiago’s 1.2 Litre tried and tested petrol engines and the 1.05 Litre diesel unit in a different state of tune in order to cut expense.
