Tata Hexa launch is expected to happen sometime during festive season but it could be reportedly delayed due to pending final quality checks
Hexa MPV is one of the promising products Tata has in the pipeline and was expected to be launched this festive season in October. However, a report on Autocar claims that the launch timeframe could be moved by a few months due to the pending final quality checks and price for the model could start at around Rs. 12.9 lakh (ex-showroom) – lesser than the main rival Toyota Innova Crysta.
The Tata Hexa is built around the same platform as the less-successful Aria and has endured revisions on the exterior as well as interior. Up front it features flatter bonnet, honeycomb mesh grille, trapezoidal front airdams, a chrome slat underneath the grille running towards the headlights and projector headlamps.

Other visual enhancers are large 19-inch alloy wheels on top-end models, rear-mounted spoiler, side body cladding, new LED tail lamp cluster, body coloured door handles, blackened pillars, turn indicators on wing mirrors, Hexa badges behind C-pillar, twin-exhaust pipes and dual-tone bumper with aluminium skid plates. On the inside, it gets a fresh dual tone dashboard with Harman infotainment system, five-inch touchscreen, high-res 3.5-inch TFT colour screen in the instrument panel, JBL speakers, etc.
The Tata Hexa measures 4,764 mm in length, 1,895 mm in width and 1,780 mm in height and comes with a wheelbase of 2,850 mm. Powering the MPV is a 2.2-litre diesel motor which is good enough to produce a maximum power output of 156 hp and massive 400 Nm of peak torque. The same engine does duty in Safari Storme Varicor 400.
As seen on Land Rover models, the Hexa will feature four terrain modes while six-speed manual and six-speed automatic gearboxes will do the transmission works. Technology and equipment wise, it is expected to be offered with six airbags, ABS(Anti-lock Braking System), EBD(Electronic Brake-force Distribution), ESP (Electronic Stability Program), Vehicle Dynamic Control, traction control, brake assist, anti-theft alarm, rear parking sensor and Engine Drag Control.
