Tata Hexa arrives At dealerships ahead of launch; the flagship model is based on the Aria’s platform, and looks much sharper and aggressive

Tata Hexa has started arriving at dealerships ahead of its launch in late October. The car was showcased at 2016 New Delhi Auto Expo earlier this year in its production guise. The upcoming car has been designed following Tata Motors’ IMPACT design language and also with suggestions from Jaguar Land Rover.

Once launched, Hexa is going to be the flagship model from the automaker. The car is based on the Aria’s platform, and looks much sharper and aggressive compared to Aria. The car features projector headlamps with LED daytime running lights, piano black finished front grille, chrome treatment, and the front bumper looks massive. It also sports a skid plate, which indicates toward the tough character of Hexa.

Also, Tata Hexa sports 18-inch diamond cut alloy wheels, thick side body cladding, blackened glass area, roof rail and turn indicator integrated ORVMs. The rear features wrap around LED taillights, wide chrome bar between two taillights, and a chunky bumper with twin exhaust tailpipes. Dimensionally, Tata Hexa measures 4,764mm in length, 1,895mm in width and 1,780mm in height, and it also has a wheelbase of 2,850mm.

Tata Hexa is believed to be most refined car from the automaker. It features a black interior, which gives the car a sporty look. Inside the cabin, the car gets multifunction steering wheel, digital MID at instrument cluster, touchscreen Harman developed infotainment system at centre console. Apart from that, Hexa also receives leather upholstery with twin-needle stitching, ambient lighting, 2+2+2 seating layout with captain seats.

Power source of this car is shared with Tata Safari Storme. The 2.2-litre VARICOR diesel engine produces 154.2 bhp at 4,000 rpm and 400 Nm of peak torque between 1,700 rpm and 2,700 rpm, with a fuel economy of 13 kmpl. Transmission options include 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic gearboxes. The automatic gearbox will be offered as option in mid and top variants.
