Tata Tiago Plus Sport will come producing 120 bhp peak power
Tata Motors has dropped the plan to launch the Bolt Sports. The car was showcased at the 2016 New Delhi Auto Expo. It was a bit sportier version of the Bolt hatchback. But as the Bolt’s sales figure doesn’t come as satisfying, the auto manufacturer has decided to drop the plan of launching the car. Instead the company is focusing on the performance oriented version of the Tiago.
Tata Bolt was first displayed at the 2014 New Delhi Auto Expo. Within 12 months it was launched with much expectation. The car sports a new design which we have seen in the later models as well. This car was a replacement of the Indica Vista, and the car really came as a distinctive one. But unfortunately, Bolt couldn’t do well in Indian market.

The sporty looking Tata Bolt has sold only 17,000 units till date since the launch. It came loaded with features. But it couldn’t take the challenge from the Maruti Suzuki Swift and Hyundai Elite i20. On the other hand, the Tiago has been launched few months back, and it has already garnered more than 30,000 units of sales figure. Therefore Tata Motors saw the potential in the Tiago Plus Sport instead of Bolt Sports.
The petrol variant of the regular Tata Tiago comes with a 1.2 litre Revotron engine, which kicks out 84 bhp of peak power. The performance oriented Tiago Plus Sport get power from a revised 1.2 litre turbocharged four cylinder petrol engine. It will churn out 120 bhp of peak power.

To make the Tiago Plus Sport distinctive from the regular Tiago, Tata Motors will equip this car with sporty body kits, new body decals. Also expect the front and rear bumpers to come revised. The interior would also receive some change. Mechanically, it will receive a lowered suspension with stiff dampers.
