Tata Achieves 50 Lakh Production Milestone In India

As part of the 50 lakh production milestone, Tata will introduce a celebratory campaign for customers and employees across India

Tata Motors has today announced that it has reached a cumulative production milestone of fifty lakh vehicles. The employees of the Mumbai-based manufacturer celebrated this feat in a unique manner as the Tata Motors family and its domestic portfolio came together to signify the achievement in an arrangement when viewed from the top.

The company has been excelling in garnering volume sales over the last five to six years and the arrival of new models across different segments has really helped in establishing itself as the third largest carmaker in the country on monthly basis. Speaking of the milestone, Shailesh Chandra, Managing Director, Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd., and Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Ltd. said

“Today marks a celebratory moment in the history of Tata Motors as we celebrate our 5-million production mark milestone. This journey, from each million to the next, has been one replete with its fair share of ups and downs. We have been changing India with every new product intervention. Every Innovation was with the idea of building the nation.”

As part of the 50 lakh production milestone, Tata will introduce a celebratory campaign for customers and employees across India as it will deck up its dealership and sales outlets with branded outfits and the signatory mnemonic to mark the achievement. It has also been said that Tata will continue its month-long celebrations across factories and regional offices. 

Tata reached 10 lakh production back in 2004 before getting past 20 lakhs in 2010. The 30 lakh milestone was achieved just five years later and in another half a decade, the brand rolled out its 40th lakh unit. Its recent success meant that despite the health crisis, the next 10 lakh production came in only three years.

More noticeably, Tata went past the last 10 lakh production in just two and a half years. Tata’s local range comprises the entry-level Tiago, Tigor compact sedan, Altroz premium hatchback, Punch micro SUV, Nexon compact SUV, the best-selling SUV in India, Harrier and Safari midsize SUVs. Being the leading passenger EV maker, Tata also sells the Nexon EV, Tigor EV and Tiago EV in India.
