Suzuki Ignis Trail concept and Water Activity Concept Unveiled

Both these concepts emphasizes on Suzuki Ignis’ sporty outdoor characteristics


The ongoing Beijing Motor Show is definitely a large platform for the automakers to show the world their products. Suzuki is surely one of the largest automaker in Asia. They showcased two Ignis based concept models at the ongoing automotive event, which are Ignis Trail concept and Ignis Water Activity concept. Both these concept cars emphasize the sporty and outdoorsy characteristics of the Ignis micro SUV. Suzuki Ignis was first unveiled 2015 Tokyo Motor Show and later showcased at 2016 Tokyo Auto Salon. The car was showcased at our very own 2016 New Delhi Auto Expo as well.

The Suzuki Ignis Trail concept gets Orange body stripes highlighting the front grille, headlamp clusters and fog lamps. The beltline gets an orange coloured strip running through the length of the car. It also sports bold wheelarch moldings and larger alloy wheels, both painted in glossy black. The wheel spokes get the Orange accents. Overall the Ignis Trail concept is nothing but an Ignis with some additional styling features.

The other concept showcased at the Beijing Motor Show 2016 is the Suzuki Ignis Water Activity concept. It gets a dark green exterior paint, with Orange strip at the front grille, front and rear bumpers. Side sills, wing mirror caps, black alloy wheels. The car gets an Orange coloured canoe mounted on the roof rails which indicates the name so perfectly.

The Japanese market spec Ignis takes power from a hybrid powertrain. It gets a 1.3 litre (1242 cc) Dualjet engine under the hood which gets combined with an electric motor. The Dualjet engine gets mated to a CVT gearbox. Details about the powertrain of these Ignis based concepts are not available yet. The Japanese automaker will commence selling the Ignis micro SUV in China from 2017 onwards. The Ignis will hit the Indian market later this year, possibly during the festive season.
