Suzuki Ignis Sport Concept

Suzuki Ignis Sport Concept is based on entry level model and it is finished in black colour with red stripes on sides along with red skid plates and skirts

PT Suzuki Indomobil Motor has officially revealed Ignis Sport Concept at GIIAS 2018. The Japanese manufacturer already sells Ignis Sport in Indonesian market, which comes with black finished bumper, skid plates, side skirt and rear spoiler. The Suzuki Ignis Sport Concept is expected to be introduced as a special edition model soon.

The Ignis Sport Concept is based on entry level model as the show car misses out on projector headlamps and LED DRLs. Suzuki has finished Ignis Sport Concept in black colour with red stripes on side along with red skid plates and skirts. The chrome finish on front grille has been replaced by LED DRL bar.

To make it look even more aggressive, the rear spoiler is finished in red colour and the Ignis Sport Concept comes with black 15 inch trapezoidal rim. Overall, the exterior upgrades make the model look sporty and attractive. The interior of Suzuki Ignis Sport is shared with regular model.

The two tone finish of regular model has been replaced by all black finish. The Ignis Sport misses out some features but the show car comes with music system and special upholstery for dashboard, seats and door pad. The top end variant of Ignis comes with long list of features which include touch screen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, climate control, key less entry, push button start, projector headlamps, electronic OVRMs and more.

The Suzuki Ignis Sport Concept won’t come with any mechanical changes as it is powered by same 1.2 L Kappa series engine producing 83 PS of power and 115 Nm of torque. This engine is mated to 5 speed manual and AMT gearbox. Suzuki is not offering Ignis diesel variant in Indonesia and they discontinued it in India also.

The Japanese manufacturer import Ignis from India and we can expect the company to launch Sport version in the domestic market as well. Even though Maruti Suzuki priced Ignis at a premium, sales are good and the introduction of a limited edition model will certainly help the company to improve sales.
