Suzuki Motor Corporation global sales crossed 3 million units in the 2018 fiscal year. This is the first time the Japanese manufacturer crossed this milestone. India is the major contributor for Suzuki globally as 55% of volume comes from India. The total sales volume is 3,223,897 units and out of these 1,779,574 units are from India which is 13.4 percent growth compared to previous year.

The growth in India is thanks to the success of Dzire, Swift and Baleno. Maruti was usually not performing well in UV segment but the launch of Vitara Brezza has helped the company to post excellent growth and it has also played a significant role in selling more than a million cars last fiscal.
The Indo-Japanese brand introduced new generation of Dzire and Swift in India and these will further help the company to grow in coming months.

The product portfolio of Maruti will be stronger with new products taking the company forward.

Maruti Suzuki is planning to invest Rs. 5000 crore in India to develop new products, plant maintenance and dealerships. Last year, Maruti revealed its new retail chain Arena which is a big step up from current dealerships and offers better experience for the customers. Nexa dealerships are also popular for the premium experience they offer and it will be expanded to more cities soon as the company will add 300 new dealerships by the end of 2019 to take the total number to 3000.
