Suzuki launched the Gixxer SF 250 in India recently and this is a fully faired motorcycle that will rival directly against the likes of the Honda CBR 250R and the Yamaha Fazer 25. However, if we keep the price point in mind then it definitely also has an unusual rival in the form of the recently introduced Bajaj Dominar 400. The 2019 Dominar 400 received some important cosmetic as well as mechanical updates recently and now is a strong contender in the sub 2 lakh rupees segment.

That said, today we have decided to compare the newly launched GIxxer SF 250 vs the popular Bajaj Dominar 400. We will be comparing these two new contenders on the basis of their styling, engine, brakes, suspension, and pricing. We will also add our comparison verdict at the end.

The Gixxer SF 250 is a full faired offering from Suzuki that offers a more aggressive rider triangle. It gets a clip on the handlebar and slightly rear seat footpegs. The motorcycle also features a split seat and a muscular looking fuel tank. The SF 250 also gets a huge front fairing with full LED headlamps. The rear profile of the motorcycle too looks sporty with the presence of the stylish rear LED taillamp.

The Bajaj Dominar, on the other hand, gets a much lower and relaxed rider triangle. It gets a single piece handlebar and slightly front set foot pegs. Unlike the Gixxer SF 250, the Dominar does not get a fairing but it too gets a full LED headlamp setup, a full digital instrument cluster just like its rival and split seats. The motorcycle also gets a stubby looking exhaust that is also present in its rival as well.

Both the Gixxer and the Dominar are touring focused motorcycles but the Dominar 400 has a more street bike stance the Gixxer SF 250 on the other hand like we already mentioned above offer a full fairing that looks sharp from every possible angle. In terms of features, the Dominar definitely stays on top because it offers  LED turn indicators, two different displays. The primary display offers some additional information including current fuel economy, average fuel consumption, a distance to service indicator, etc besides the basic information.

The Suzuki Gixxer SF 250 is powered by a 249cc, single cylinder, air-oil cooled, 4 valve motor. This unit is paired with a 6-speed gearbox that churns out about 26.1 Bhp of peak power and 22.6 Nm of peak torque.

The Bajaj Dominar 400, on the other hand, is powered by a bigger and more advanced engine. The Dominar 400 uses a 373cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, and fuel-injected motor. This unit produces about 39.4 Bhp of peak power and 35 Nm of peak torque. The unit is paired with a 6-speed gearbox and it even gets a slipper clutch as well.

The Bajaj Dominar 400 gets a better suspension and brakes. The motorcycle uses an upside-down suspension setup at the front and a preload adjustable monoshock setup at the rear. Braking duties of the motorcycle are handled by disc brakes on both ends. A dual channel ABS is also offered as standard.

The Suzuki Gixxer SF 250, on the other hand, uses a conventional telescopic suspension setup at the front and a monoshock unit at the rear. This full faired motorcycle also depends on disc brakes on both ends to bring it to a halt. It also gets a dual channel ABS as standard for the safety of the rider.
