The Gixxer SF 250 will be powered by a new 249 cc fuel injected 26.5 PS engine, to come with a 5-year standard warranty
Suzuki is going to launch the much-awaited new Gixxer SF 250 in India on 20th May. The brochure has been already leaked, revealing most of the details. The Japanese manufacturer will offer the Gixxer SF 250 with a 5-year standard warranty, which is much more than most of its competitors’ offers.
This will make the ownership experience hassle free and gives confidence for new customers. Talking about the design, the theme of Gixxer SF 250 is different from the current generation SF150 as the fairing is inspired by GSX series bikes.
The headlamp set up is different from the Gixxer SF 150 and the company is likely to give LED lights. The visor is finished in black colour and it is slightly taller, which likely to help in reducing wind blast. The rear view mirrors are placed on the fairing and this design theme is similar to the current SF 150.
Suzuki has given clip-on handlebar for the SF 250 and it is positioned slightly lower with rear set-foot pegs giving an aggressive riding stance, which is missing from the 150cc models. The Gixxer SF 250 comes with a split seat as the pillion seat is positioned slightly higher and the grab handles are placed near the seat.
The rear gets LED tail lamp and indicators are placed near the number plate. The instrument cluster of Gixxer SF 250 is digital like SF 150 but the design will be different and it will give lots of information for the rider. The company has given telescopic forks at the front and mono-shock at the rear, which is likely to be tuned for comfort.
The Gixxer SF 250 is powered by 249 cc single cylinder, oil-cooled engine with fuel injection producing 26.5 PS at 9,000 rpm and 22.6 Nm of torque at 7,500 rpm. This engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox and the company has given disc brakes at both ends with dual-channel ABS system as part of the standard package. Suzuki will announce the prices of Gixxer 250 on 20th May along with all new 2019 Suzuki Gixxer 150 SF.
