Suzuki e-Survivor Concept

Suzuki e-Survivor concept previews an electric SUV with AWD; production model could launch here by 2020

Suzuki grabbed everyone’s attention at the 2017 Tokyo Motor Show with its e-Survivor concept that previews a pure electric SUV with AWD. Now, this concept is ready to appear at the 2018 Delhi Auto Expo. While speculations suggest this previews the next generation Suzuki Jimny or new Maruti Suzuki Gypsy, the Japanese automaker and its Indian subsidiary is tight lipped about it.

We can assume the auto giant will launch the production variant of the car sometime around 2020. Considering the fact that Maruti Suzuki has already announced that it wants to launch its first pure electric car in India by the end of this decade and as the country is thriving towards zero emission pure electric mobility by 2030 under Mission EV 2030 strategy, we expect e-Survivor concept to play key role for Suzuki’s EV strategy for domestic market.

Speaking about the Suzuki e-Survivor concept, it gets a bold look. The concept features Jeep like vertically slated front grille with blue accent. The grille is flanked by round shaped headlamps with integrated LED daytime running lights. The headlamps come with blue accent and expect the production model to receive LED projector lamps.

The front bumper doesn’t sport a conventional look and it gets a higher positioned stance. If we look at the side profile of the concept, it appears to have taken design inspiration from the iconic Willys Jeep from Second World War era. It gets chunky and large off-road focused tyres wrapped around the alloy wheels. Instead of conventional doors, the SUV concept gets glass panel making the interior visible. At the back, the car gets C shaped LED taillights.
