Suzuki Burgman Street 125 maxi-scooter comes loaded with plenty of features and uses same powertrain as Access 125
Suzuki showcased the brand new Burgman Street 125 premium scooter at the 2018 New Delhi Auto Expo in February and after months of waiting, it has finally enter the market at a price of Rs. 68,000 (ex-showroom, Delhi). It comes around Rs. 9,000 costlier than the top-spec Access 125 it is based on and is offered in three colour options namely Metallic Mat Fibroin Gray, Glass Sparkle Black and Pearl Mirage White.
The first-ever maxi scooter in India after a very long time belongs to the globally popular Burgman range. In addition to the very stylish and premium urban appeal, the Suzuki Burgman Street 125 comes equipped with loaded features to attract young customers. It receives a 124.3 cc engine that works in Suzuki Access 125, as the single-cylinder air-cooled four-stroke SOHC motor produces 8.7 PS at 7,000 rpm and 10.2 Nm peak torque at 5,000 rpm.
It is mated a CVT automatic transmission and uses telescopic front and hydraulic type rear suspension units. It runs on 90/90-12 54 J and 90/100-10 54 J front and rear tubeless tyres while the biting power is handled by front disc and rear drum brakes with CBS (Combined braking System) as standard.
The Suzuki Burgman Street measures 1,880 mm in length, 675 mm in width, 1,140 mm in height and has seat height of 780 mm with 160 mm ground clearance. It features a wheelbase of 1,265 mm and has 5.6 litres of fuel tank capacity and 108 kg kerb mass (8 kg more than Access 125 due to the added bodywork), and has some bits carried over from the Gixxer 155.
The Suzuki Burgman Street rivals against the likes of TVS NTorq, Honda Grazia, Piaggio Vespa 125 and Aprilia SR 125. The maxi-scooter from Suzuki features a fully digital LCD instrument panel (with digital clock, fuel gauge, oil change indicator and dual trip meter), LED position lamp and striking all-LED taillight. The powerful LED headlamp is positioned at the front cowl giving a sporty stance while chrome accents on front and rear body panels elevate its upmarket appeal further.
It also comprises of tall windshield to prevent wind blast and ensure comfortable riding experience for the rider. There is ample space at the footboard area and the seat is well-cushioned as well to comfort the rider and pillion during long rides. Other important features onboard are multi-function key slot, generous under seat storage capacity of 21.5 litres, 12V DC charging socket and optional USB charger among others.
The Burgman Street 125 appeals for the growing trend of entry-level premium scooter buying customers and it has long and comfortable seat for the ease of users. Its timing of entry in the market is perfect and with mileage of around 55 kmpl, it is going to be an attractive option.
