SsangYong XLV (7 seater Tivoli) appears at 2016 Geneva Motor Show; boasts revised exterior and plenty of boot space

We have seen the SsangYong Tivoli at the recently concluded 2016 Auto Expo in Greater Noida, and now the South Korean automaker has unveiled the XLV at the ongoing Geneva Motor Show. The car is basically a seven seater Tivoli with lots of extra space to accommodate an additional row of seat and extra luggage of course. This car will surely enhance the brand’s global presence.

If you take a close look at the SsangYong XLV, you will find the front bumper is a bit revised, although the change looks subtle. Otherwise, the car looks like exactly same with its smaller sibling, which we saw at New Delhi Auto Expo last month. If you walk past the C pillar, the difference comes to notice, as the rear gets extended to accommodate extra space.

Well, wait for more. The rear looks completely different than its smaller counterpart. It gets a nicely wraparound windshield, large LED taillights with wraparound appearance and a beefy rear bumper. Although the car gets the same 2600 mm wheelbase of Tivoli, the overhang is extended by 235 mm to afford the extra space. The car gets a total length of 4430 mm. As a result the boot space can afford a total of 720 litres of luggage.

Go to interior, the dashboard gets redesigned to squeeze out extra space inside the cabin. The multi-function steering wheel sports several control buttons and dual pod driver information system with an LCD screen. The centre console sports a large touchscreen flanked by the AC vents on both sides.

Wondering what it will get under the hood? The XLV will get a 1.6 litre four cylinder turbocharged diesel unit while there will be a 1.6 litre four cylinder petrol unit available as well. The transmission duty will be done by a six speed manual gearbox alongside a six speed automatic. The car will be offered in both front wheel drive and all wheel drive options.
