All-new SsangYong Musso pickup takes power from a 2.2-litre turbo-diesel Euro-6 engine churning out 178 PS of peak power

SsangYong has launched all-new Musso one-tonne pickup, which is merely a facelifted Korando Sports. The Musso pickup is set to go on sale from this month at a starting price-tag of £15,995 (excluding VAT). The double-cab pickup comes with 3-tonne towing capability.

SsangYong Musso is available in two different variants, which are SE and EX. Both the variants sport revised appearance, which is aggressive and sporty indeed. Musso SE gets new-design front grille, 18-inch silver alloy wheels at exterior, while the higher variant EX gets LED daytime running lights, 18-inch black alloy wheels, roof rails.

Inside the cabin too, the Musso SE and EX get several features which enhance appeal. Musso SE sports leather-looking TPU seat upholstery and a new dashboard, while steering wheel and gear knob is wrapped with genuine leather. On the other hand, Musso EX features power adjustable driver seat, heated leather seats, automatic air conditioning and a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with RDS radio, iPod and Bluetooth connectivity. It also comes with features like automatic headlights, rain sensing wipers.

The South Korean automaker claims, occupants can feel car like relaxed and comfortable riding experience with all-new Musso, due to its improved suspension set-up. It also claims that, despite one-tonne payload at the 2,040mm loading deck ride quality of Musso doesn’t get affected at all.

On powertrain front, SsangYong Musso is equipped with a 2.2-litre turbo-diesel engine, replacing Korando’s 2.0-litre engine. The new larger and more powerful engine kicks out 178 PS of peak power and 400 Nm of peak torque. Transmission options include a manual gearbox as standard and a 6-speed Aisin automatic gearbox as option with Musso EX. It is also claimed to offer better fuel economy, while CO2 efficiency has dropped. SsangYong offers five-years of warranty with on both Musso SE and Musso EX.
