S&S Exhaust System For RE 650 Twins Now In India

The S&S exhaust system not only changes the exhaust note but also helps boost the performance of the RE 650 twins at the same time

High Note performance, a Delhi based Store who deals with safety gears, accessories and parts of the motorcycle recently announced that they will be importing the S&S exhaust system for Royal Enfield 650 Twins in India and even started taking pre-orders for the exhaust system.

S&S Cycle Inc. is a US-based aftermarket parts maker who is known for their high-quality power parts and accessories for motorcycles. Royal Enfield offers the S&S exhaust system with their flagship offerings in few select International markets already but unfortunately not in India.

The Indian market is filled with many local branded aftermarket exhaust system including AEW performance, Red Rooster and Grid7 but the S&S exhaust system sounds better than and also promises to boost the power output and performance of the 650 Twins. Besides the exhaust system, S&S also offers several other parts like a big bore kit which take the displacement of the 650 twins from 648cc to 865cc. The kit includes cylinder, pistons and head gasket.

For reference both the Royal Enfield Continental GT 650 and the Interceptor 650 is powered by the same 648 cc, fuel injected, parallel-twin cylinder, air & oil cooled, SOHC engine. The unit paired with a 6-speed gearbox produces about 47 bhp of peak power at 7,250 rpm and 52 Nm of torque at 5,250 rpm.

Like we already have informed earlier Royal Enfield has recently decided to add a software update to the 650 Twins in order to solve their inability to climb higher altitudes. The RE authorities will call the owners of the 650 Twins to the authorized service centres and update the software which will take only ten minutes.

The good news is that the update has already been approved by ARAI and will be pre-installed and on all the Interceptor 650 and Continental GT 650 motorcycles after June as pre-installed.
