Skoda Kodiaq vRS would be available in both petrol and diesel engine options; will sport aggressive styling

Skoda is preparing to introduce a performance focused version of the Kodiaq SUV. Christened as the Kodiaq vRS, it is expected to be launched next year and this SUV promised lot more Torque than the standard model. The upcoming Skoda Kodiaq vRS will be available in both petrol and diesel engine options and it will wear a more aggressive styling compared to the standard model.

The upcoming Skoda Kodiaq vRS will be available in both five seater and seven seater configurations. However, the details of the powertrains are not available. But, the Kodiaq vRS is expected to kick out much more torque output compared to the regular model. Also, no test mule of the car has been spotted yet, but the automaker is working on the car.

As we have seen in the Skoda Octavia vRS, the Kodiaq vRS too will focus more on the diesel powered model despite having a petrol variant. This SUV is expected to arrive with four-wheel drive as standard. Its initial markets are likely to include Germany and UK. It is not sure, if the Skoda Kodiaq vRS will be available in Indian market, but we can always be optimistic.

This performance focused Kodiaq SUV will wear a more aggressive styling compared to the regular model. Expect restyled front and rear bumper, additional trims around the front grille and glass area. Interestingly, Skoda is also working on a coupe variant of the Kodiaq and this premium coupe SUV will be exclusively produced and sold in Chinese market only.

Speaking about the regular Skoda Kodiaq SUV, it is expected to be launched in India in the fourth quarter of this year. Expect the SUV to be priced between Rs. 24 lakh and Rs. 32 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi). Upon arrival, it will lock horns with rivals like Toyota Fortuner, Ford Endeavour and Volkswagen Tiguan in the country.
