For the first time, 6 Maruti Suzuki cars sold over 15,000 units in a single month which shows how strong they are in the Indian market
Indian Automotive Sector is showing positive growth despite rising fuel prices and increasing cost of ownership. In passenger car segment, Maruti Suzuki is leading the sales chart which is not an unusual thing as they have more than 50 percent share. But for the first time, 6 Maruti Suzuki cars sold over 15,000 units in a single month which shows how strong they are in the Indian market.
Maruti Suzuki Dzire is leading the sales chart for May 2018 with 24,365 units closely followed by Alto with 21,890 units and Baleno at third position with 19,398 units. Then comes Swift with 19,208 units, Wagon R – 15,974 units and Vitara Brezza – 15,629 units. Except for Alto which showed negative growth, all other models improve compared to same month previous year.

Ever since the launch of new generation Dzire, the compact sedan was leading the sales chart with more than 20,000 units each month. The new generation Swift is also positing impressive numbers and the sales will further improve once the new plant of Maruti Suzuki in Gujarat starts full operation.
Last month, Maruti Suzuki launched Vitara Brezza AMT which is one of the most awaited variants as customers were asking for an automatic variant for long time. The 5 speed AMT gearbox on Vitara Brezza is the most advanced unit of AMT till now. The Indian manufacturer has also given some cosmetic changes for the Vitara Brezza. In coming months, we can expect the numbers to improve.

Maruti Suzuki Wagon R and Alto are the two old models in company’s line up. The Alto is expected to get a new generation in next couple of years and it will be completely new to take on the new competition. The company is currently working on new generation of Wagon R and the launch will take place by Diwali. So future is looking good for the Ind-Japanese manufacturer and they will continue the lead moving forward.
