Saina Nehwal gets first unit of Hyundai Creta Anniversary Edition; the brand celebrates one year since the launch of the SUV
Hyundai Creta is the bestselling compact SUV segment in India. Launched in July, 2015 the car has sold more than 80000 units in the country. To celebrate the successful one year of the car, Hyundai has unveiled a special Anniversary Edition. Earlier we presented you the exclusive image of the Creta Anniversary Edition.
Now Hyundai presented the first unit of the special edition model to the ace shuttler Saina Nehwal in a ceremony in Bangalore. The Anniversary Edition of Creta will be sold in limited numbers. Based on the standard SX trim it comes with new lettering, decals and some updated features inside the cabin, but no mechanical change at all.
The car sports Anniversary Edition badge at the blackened C pillar and at rear as well. The side profile of the car features Red and Blue stripes running between the fenders, just above the cladding. The C pillar also gets the dual colour stripes. Roof of the car also dons contrasting paint job. Other changes include 17 inch diamond cut alloy wheels and the ‘Anniversary Edition’ badging.
The interior dons an all black theme to make it sportier looking. Added to that the car also features illuminated door sills, new seat covers and floor mats with ‘Anniversary Edition’ lettering. The company also offers a car refrigerator. The interior boasts some contrast colouring around the vertically slated AC vents flanking the centre console.
The mechanical front remains unchanged. Being based on the SX trim the Hyundai Creta Anniversary Edition is powered by a 1.6 litre CRDi diesel engine paired with a 6 speed manual transmission. It churns out 126 bhp of peak power and 265 Nm of peak torque with an ARAI certified fuel economy of 19.67 kmpl. The special edition model comes in three different colour options, which are Polar White, Sleek Silver and Passion Red.
