Royal Enfield recently revealed Thunderbird 350X and 500X which is based on regular Thunderbird models. The X model basically offers more customization options along with a modern design. Most of the Royal Enfield customers prefer their bikes to be customized compared to stock models which is why the company is offering lots of official accessories for the customers.
The long list of accessories include windshield kit, windshield embellisher kit, engine guard, oil filler gap, brake reservoir lid, passenger back rest and more. The most expensive accessory is wheel alloy cast which is priced at Rs. 9500 and it will take 105 minutes for the mechanic to fit it and the least expensive kit is brake reservoir lid at Rs. 800.

Apart from these accessories, Royal Enfield is also offering lots of merchandise like T-Shirt, helmets, bandana, boots and riding jacket and so many other things. Royal Enfield Thunderbird 350X is powered by 346 cc single cylinder engine producing 19.8 bhp of power and 28 Nm of torque. This engine is mated to 5 speed gearbox.
The Thunderbird 500X is powered by 499 cc single cylinder fuel injected engine producing 27.2 bhp of power and 41.3 Nm of torque. This engine is also mated to 5 speed gearbox. Even though aesthetically both these models are completely different from the base Thunderbird models, the suspension and chassis is same.

Royal Enfield hasn’t made any mechanical changes for the X models and the engine tunning is same as the regular models. The Thunderbird 350X and 500X get new alloy wheels, new tyres, flat handlebar, short rear fenders and new grab rails which gives these bikes a fresh feel and it will attract more youngsters to the brand.
But we were expecting Royal Enfield to make some mechanical changes also as the ride quality and handling is not upto the level of its competitors. The Indian manufacturer is planning to introduce Continental GT 650 and Interceptor 650 by the end of this year in India with all new 650 cc engine.
