Royal Enfield officially revealed the new 650 cc engine on Continental GT 650 and Interceptor 650 at the 2017 EICMA. Both these bikes sales are yet to begin sales and India launch is delayed by production problems at the plant. The company is taking its own sweet time to iron out the issues to introduce flawless machines to win the hearts of enthusiasts.
The company hasn’t revealed any other plans about future models based on new 650 cc engine. Motosketches revealed couple of renderings of Royal Enfield Scrambler with the brand new 650 cc engine. The yellow-white finished bike is named as Royal Enfield Twin Scrambler Sport and the green one is named as Royal Enfield Twin Scrambler Classic.

The Twin Scrambler Sport is designed more of an off-road bike as the front fenders are placed just below headlamps along with front wheels which are bigger compared to rear wheels. The side panel is plain on the rendering while the exhaust is placed high on the body like most of the Scrambler bikes and the tail light is also placed high on the body.
But the Classic is tone downed version as it gets regular fenders along with a simple design for side panels. Both these bikes get upside down front fork with dual gas charged suspension at the rear. The headlamps are circular ones with chrome surroundings. The handle bar is placed on the tall side and seat is wider to make the ride comfortable.

We can hope that Royal Enfield might introduce an affordable scrambler series which will attract lots of customers. The 648 cc single cylinder oil cooled, air cooled and fuel injected engine produces 47 PS of power at 7,100 rpm and 52 Nm of torque at 4,000 rpm. This engine is mated to 6 speed gearbox. This engine will be built in India and exported to different countries in same configuration.
