Royal Enfield likely to launch 650cc twins in India in mid 2018; could come priced at around Rs. 3.5 lakh

Royal Enfield is promising highest level of quality with its upcoming Continental GT 650 and Interceptor 650. Both the motorcycles were unveiled at the 2017 EICMA in Milan and grabbed attention of the world immediately. Now, the Chennai-based motorcycle giant is gearing up to launch the 650 cc twins in India in mid 2018 and as the brand claims, it will make sure the customers get no chance to complain about quality of the upcoming RE 650cc twins.

Speaking about the quality issue, Royal Enfield has taken lesson from Himalayan that was criticized by many buyers. Now, as Royal Enfield is aiming the global market with its Continental GT 650 and Interceptor 650, it is cautious not to make similar mistake.

Royal Enfield boss Mr. Siddhartha Lal says the company will make sure each and every unit of the 650cc twin motorcycles come offering best quality before delivery. For this, the company is introducing rigorous testing procedure as well. Not only these two models, but future Royal Enfield motorcycles will also come offering best quality.

Both the Continental GT 650 and Interceptor 650 received significant amount of input from Royal Enfield technology centre in UK. Now, the brand is setting up a new technology centre in India and these tech centres are bound to make sure the brand produces high standard products for both domestic and global market.

As we reported earlier, Royal Enfield is aiming to grab a large share in the middleweight category of world motorcycle market and in this attempt the Continental GT 650 and Interceptor 650 will play key role. Also, the brand is working on a 650 cc Himalayan as well that will share the same engine as the current 650 cc twins.

Both the Continental GT 650 and Interceptor 650 are powered by Royal Enfield’s new 648 cc parallel-twin fuel-injected engine that is coupled with a 6-speed transmission and kicks out 47 bhp of peak power at 7,100 rpm and 4,000 rpm. Expect the upcoming RE Himalayan 650 too to generate similar power and torque output.
