BMW Motorrad is developing a compact adventure tourer which will be based on the G310R is likely that it will be called as BMW F310GS Tourer. Rushlane has posted a rendered image, which gives us the speculative idea how this bike is going to be like. The news of the development of this bike was broke by BMW Motorrad’s UK chief recently, and the speculation is that this rugged looking naked adventure tourer would be built by TVS as a part of the technology cooperation deal they have with the BMW Motorrad.

As it seems, the F310GS might take design cues from the very popular F700GS, therefore it will be a smaller derivative of the F700GS. If you take a close look at the rendered image, the headlamp, fuel tank and the tail of the bike resembles with the larger F700GS. It also gets a tall windshield, long travel suspension and alloy wheels. Expect the bike to hit the market in 2017. It might retain the 313 cc single cylinder liquid cooled engine paired with a six speed transmission. On board the G310R, on which the upcoming F310GS is going to be based this engine churns out around 34 PS of peak power and 28 Nm of peak torque. Expect the engine and gearbox to be tweaked for touring purpose in the upcoming F310GS.

Adventure tourer bikes have been always something every adventurer dreams off. BMW Motorrad is targeting the budding enthusiasts, and they will offer this upcoming bike as a stepping stone to the arena of hardcore adventure riding. As part of technology cooperation agreement with BMW Motorrad, TVS might manufacture the bike in India. Incidentally, the production of G310R is about to begin at TVS’s Hosur plant any time. The prototype of the adventure tourer is not out on public roads yet although.
