Renault Kwid Super Hero Edition has been introduced in partnership with Marvel and it comes inspired by Captain America and Iron Man
Renault India has just launched special edition of the highly-popular Kwid inspired by two of the iconic super hero figures. The couple of Avengers-themed versions will only be limited production run and deliveries are set to begin during the upcoming Avengers movie. The Renault Kwid Super Hero Edition is exclusively retailed in Amazon and bookings have opened for initial amount of Rs. 9,999.
One edition takes inspiration from Captain America and the other from Iron Man. The significant cosmetic changes are new body graphics, new sporty accents inside the cabin, steering wheel and ORVMs among others. The Captain American inspired version also adorns new graphics and interior along with anodised red gear knob. Renault Kwid Super Hero Edition is available in both manual and AMT transmission options and comes at a premium of Rs. 29,900 over the top-of-the-line 1.0L RXT (O) trim.

The new limited editions have their unique stature inspired by either of the superheroes. One finished in Exclusive White Shade with Captain America’s Classic Shield and Suit Theme and the other with Exclusive Red Shade with Iron Man’s Arc Reactor and Armour Theme. The Kwid small hatchback range is priced between Rs. 2.67 lakh and Rs. 4.63 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi).
Renault says over 2,20,000 Kwids are currently on road and it has often been among the top ten bestselling vehicles in the country since it entered the domestic market in the middle of 2015. Built around the brand’s low-cost global CMF-A platform, the Kwid is manufactured in Chennai facility with an impressive localisation rate of 98 percent – highest for any European automaker.

Sold in a total of 16 variants, Renault has constantly been introducing special edition variants of the Kwid to keep the hatchback in the spotlight through its lifecycle. At the 2016 Auto Expo, the Climber and Racer editions were showcased but only the former has so far entered showrooms. Moreover, to mark the yearly celebration, Renault launched two anniversary versions in the consequent years.
Only last month, the Live For More Reloaded edition of the Kwid made its presence in India. The standard Kwid is sold with either a 799 cc or a 999 cc petrol engine. However, the Renault Kwid Super Hero Edition gets only the 999 cc inline three-cylinder DOHC motor which is good enough to produce a maximum power output of 67 bhp at 5,500 rpm and 91 Nm of peak torque delivered at 4,250 rpm. It is mated to five-speed manual or a five-speed AMT.
