Renault Kwid is certainly one of the best selling entry level cars in India. In August, 2016 the car has broken its own previous record by selling 10,719 units, which also made it the seventh bestselling car in India. With this sales record Renault Kwid has crossed the 10,000 sales mark for the first time, also it is about to touch the 1 lakh units sales milestone soon, which will make this car one of the fastest selling model in the country.

Renault launched the Kwid last year with a revolutionary design, which is a blend between a hatchback and a crossover. The car became so popular that India became one of the first 10 most important global markets for the French auto manufacturer. Renault has taken up the game even higher last month, by introducing a 1.0 litre unit to the Kwid.

The Kwid comes with a rugged and aggressive SUV like stance, which appeals both the urban and rural customers who love a SUV but can’t afford more than a hatchback. Also the car offers the upmarket features, which are certainly very impressive in the entry level hatchback segment. The car is built on a CMF platform which is lightweight, therefore improving the fuel economy, while the 98% localized production of the Kwid has made strong effect on the pricing of the car.

The car comes bearing features like fully digital instrument cluster with an unique design, 7 inch MEDIANAV touchscreen infotainment system, while on the safety front the car sports optional driver airbag and seat belt pretensioner. No wonder, being a small entry level hatchback and offering these features has increased its appeal.
