The most hyped small car in a very long time has been finally launched today. Yes, the Kwid is finally is here and comes with a value for money pricing as it offers a lot more for very less. The Kwid has a lot of taglines and tricks up its sleeves as Renault has worked really hard to offer the customers the same small car experience with a twist that they have been waiting or always desired.
Styling is where the Kwid scores high as it looks quirky and micro SUV at the same time. The Kwid looks very compact and comes with best in class boot space at the same time. The small wheels rob the look but that’s what you can expect from a high fuel economy and small A-segment hatchback.
The Kwid has cladding on the side of wheel arches to give it the SUV feel. On the inside, quality is good for a hatch of this size and price and it gets touch screen on the top variant which is unheard of before in this segment. MID for fuel efficiency, digital meter and much more is offered.
Kwid comes with endless accessory options which make the car totally different on the outside as it comes many pin strips option which are 28 in total. Silver finish faux skid plate, roof rails, chrome on the grill, body cladding, chrome on tail-lights, fog light protector and much more as option. There is also a chrome package where everything will be used all around the bumpers to tail-lights, headlights and fog lamps will be chrome.
Engine is the 800cc three-cylinder unit which makes class leading power and torque and has the lowest kerb weight of any small car in India in the market today. The kerb weight of 660 kg and 54 PS and 72 Nm of torque make it most powerful and peppy to drive and yet returning class leading economy of 25.17 km/l.
Engine is mated to a 5-speed gearbox. Safety wise the Kwid isn’t equipped with ABS on any variant but comes with driver airbag. Renault says the Kwid has 19% cheaper service cost than the mighty Maruti Alto. Kwid will come with virtual showroom App, which will help customers customize their Kwid and book it as well. Deliveries for the Renault Kwid begin from Navratri season.
