Renault to invest Rs. 3,000 crore in India to back several new launches; the company will bring a new product every year to the market reportedly

Renault has seen impressive success in Indian market in recent past. Models like Renault Duster and Kwid has helped the company to grow in highly competitive Indian market. Kwid’s immense popularity in India has made the country sixth largest global market for Renault. Now the company plans to invest around Rs 3,000 crore in next four years, which will back the new launches.

Renault is planning to launch some major products in Indian market, which include SUVs, MPVs, sedans etc. So far, the company will bring a new product every year in the country. The company already has manufacturing infrastructure in India, therefore the huge investment will be used in products and R&D purposes. Maruti Suzuki and Hyundai Motor India are two large auto manufacturers present in India, and Renault wants to challenge the dominance of these two automakers in Indian market.

CMF-A platform developed by Renault Nissan alliance has opened opportunity for Renault to manufacture different products in different segments. As India is about to become third largest automobile market in world in coming years, the French automaker can’t afford to lose the opportunity to grab a large share in the market. As Mr. Bernard Cambier, Chairman for Africa-Middle East-India region says, Renault wants to become among top three automakers in India.

The company wants to bridge gap between two of its popular products Kwid and Duster. For that it is planning to launch more B-segment cars in India. Also, Renault has planned to launch a premium SUV in the country, as SUV and crossovers are one of the hottest selling segments in Indian market.

Speaking about the French automaker’s plan Mr. Cambier has said that, Renault wants to make 100% localized products in India. As the company already has a large engineering center, a wide sales network, 100% localized products will help it to keep pricing aggressive and competitive against other company products.
