Renault Captur will be positioned above Duster; based on the M0 platform it brings a fresh design

Renault is gearing up to launch its Captur SUV in India soon. The car is expected to be launched during Diwali and it would be priced around Rs. 12 lakh. Upon launch, Renault Captur will lock horns with popular and tough rival like Hyundai Creta. Also, this is going to be the flagship Renault product upon launch as it will be positioned above Duster.

Renault Captur is based on the same M0 platform shared by Renault Duster. This SUV has been designed keeping the markets like India, Brazil and Russia in mind. It appears with a fresh design and looks pretty muscular indeed. Speaking about its style, the Renault Captur gets an attractive looking front fascia with large black V shaped front grille incorporating a sleek chrome trim at the bottom of it and the diamond pattern logo at centre.

Moving to the side profile, the car gets sporty alloy wheels, dual-tone paint scheme, turn indicator integrated ORVMs, black body cladding.

Rear profile of the car gets roof spoiler, wraparound taillights with LED inserts, a chunky black bumper and a skid plate is there as well. Inside the cabin, Renault Captur appears pretty attractive and upmarket with its fresh design and features. It gets a multifunction steering wheel, butterfly pattern instrument cluster with analog dials and a digital MID as well. The centre console looks similar like Renault Kwid and it features a large touchscreen infotainment system.

As we reported earlier, on the powertrain front, Renault Captur is likely to come with a 1.6-litre petrol engine and a 1.5-litre diesel motor. However, speculations are that it could get a more powerful 2.0-litre diesel engine as well. Expect the transmission duty to be done by a 6-speed manual gearbox and an Easy-R AMT gearbox from Renault Duster could be there as well.
