Pooja Dabhi Tops Round One of Honda One Make Race Series as the inaugural all ladies race took place at Kari Motor Speedway in Coimbatore

Pune-born girl Pooja Dabhi has won the inaugural round of Honda One Make Race leading from the beginning. The event took place at the Kari Motor Speedway in Coimbatore. Pooja’s overall timing was 8:03:969 minutes in the 5 laps, while the Chennai duo Shruthi N and A Ryehane finished second and third respectively. Shruthi took 8:04:529 minutes to finish the race, while A Ryehane finished the race in 8:10:097 minutes. In doing so, Shruthi scored the fastest lap time with 1:23:691, which also set a lap record.

A total of 53 riders from Mizoram, Ahmedabad, Ranchi, Aizwal, Jalgaon, Pune, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Trichy and Aoroville took part in the entire event. The event has been divided in two categories – CBR 150R Novice and CBR 250R Open. In the first round of Honda’s exclusive women racing event 10 women racers took part with their race prepped Honda CBR 150R bikes. These riders have been trained at Honda Ten10 Racing Academy.

For the event Honda unveiled has unveiled the all new prepped race spec versions of CBR 250R and CBR 150R. These race prepped bikes have been developed with support from Honda India’s R & D team. The race spec Honda CBR 250R comes fitted with Honda racing kit, advanced racing body cowl kit, endurance exhaust, wiring harness, remapping option etc.

The CBR 150R category is an open category, while the 205R category is a team championship. For the CBR 250R category event 16 CBR 250R performance bikes have been leased out to 4 teams which are registered at FMSCI. The Ten10 Racing, which is the defending champion, competes alongside the other teams like Prolap Racing, United Tech Torque and AMB tuning.

Taking about the event Mr. Prabhu Nagaraj, Vice President of Customer Service, HMSI believes, such an all ladies race event will encourage more women riders to come out and take part in the racing event. He also congratulated the winners and the participants of the event.
