Hyundai’s N performance sub-brand has certainly made a mark ever since it was decided to become a mainstream offering and it has two models: one based on i30 and the other Veloster. The Korean auto major’s latest hit in the global markets is the Kona and to capitalise on its popularity, the N could be expanded as well.
According to media reports, the Kona N version is highly likely and a test prototype is being readied with mechanical and cosmetic modifications such as a much aggressive exterior, tuned suspension, brakes, steering and other elements contributing to the sporty handling characteristics.

The presence of an optional automatic ‘box cannot be ruled out either as Hyundai could try to provide more buying choices to the customers. If Hyundai authorities give a go, the Kona N is likely to be manufactured towards the end of this decade. As for the styling, we can expect sporty bumpers up front and rear, bold diffuser assembly and roof-integrated spoiler among other bits.
