Ola S1 Air is available in six colour schemes and is equipped with a 3 kWh battery pack enabling a claimed range of up to 125 km

Ola Electric has revealed that the S1 Air has garnered over 3,000 unit sales in just a day. The purchase window for the electric scooter officially opened on July 27 and it is available for an attractive introductory price of Rs. 1,09,999 ex-showroom, which includes the FAME 2 subsidy, until July 30, 2023. Customers buying the Ola S1 Air from July 31 will have to pay extra.

The brand has noted on its homepage that the purchase window for the S1 Air is currently available for S1 owners and previously booked customers. Selecting the option will lead you to the order page but it could not be checked out. The Ola S1 Air tab on the right-hand side notifies that the ‘Purchase window opens on 31st July’.

This is because the introductory price is only valid if you reserved the e-scooter before July 28. When the purchase window opens on July 31, the price will be up by Rs. 10,000 as the S1 Air will cost Rs. 1,19,999. The deliveries for the entry-level zero-emission scooter will commence early next month. The Bengaluru-based brand has discontinued the Ola S1 now.

The Ola S1 range currently comprises only the S1 Air and S1 Pro. The former is equipped with a 3 kWh battery pack as opposed to the 4 kWh battery found in the S1 Pro. It has a claimed riding range of 125 km in the Eco mode and 100 km in the Normal mode. It does not offer Hyper mode. The 2.7 kW hub motor produces a maximum power output of 4.5 kW enabling a top speed of 90 kmph.

A total of six colour schemes are offered with the Ola S1 Air including a new shade: Neon (new), Stellar Blue, Porcelain White, Coral Glam, Liquid Silver and Midnight Blue. It does zero to 40 kmph in 3.3 seconds and has an understorage capacity of 34 litres. It is suspended on telescopic front forks and dual shock absorbers while drum brakes are present at each end.

The Ola S1 Air takes on Bajaj Chetak and TVS iQube. The EV startup is expected to announce its future plans and unveil a host of new models next month.
