Ola Records 19,000 Unit Sales In August 2023 With 400% Growth

Ola Electric has today released a statement indicating that it has sold over 19,000 units in the month of August 2023 and compared to the same period last year, a YoY positive sales growth of 400 per cent was noted. The Bengaluru-based manufacturer has maintained a market share of 30 per cent during this period as it continues to lead the way in the electric two-wheeler space.

Only a few weeks ago, Ola introduced the second-generation S1 Pro along with launching the expanded S1 range. The month of August has met with a transition and the brand also expanded its manufacturing capacity. Ankush Aggarwal, Chief Business Officer, Ola, said,

“August has been an exciting and a busy month for us as we have expanded our portfolio to five scooters with offerings across all popular price points. The expansive S1 lineup will truly put the EV adoption in a fast lane and accelerate India’s journey towards green mobility. With the festive season setting in, we expect strong sales during this period, and expect the EV industry to witness an inflection point owing to the high consumer demand.”

The company has garnered over 75,000 bookings within two weeks since the launch of the 2023 S1 portfolio. Ola has ramped up its operations to run three shifts to meet customer requirements. The S1 range currently comprises S1 Pro, S1 Air, S1X+, S1X (3kWh) and S1X (2kWh) and they are underpinned by the second-generation platform.

The range-topping Ola S1 Pro is priced at Rs. 1,47,499 and is equipped with dual telescopic front forks, a flatter floorboard, a lighter chassis and an incremental range of 195 km on the MIDC cycle. It has the segment-best top speed of 120 kmph and the purchase window is now open with deliveries planned to begin by the middle of September.

The Ola S1 Air
 costs Rs. 1,19,999 and is equipped with a 3 kWh battery capacity and has a peak motor power of 6kW. It is claimed to have a range of 151 km and a top speed of 90 kmph. The deliveries have commenced already in more than 100 cities. The Ola S1 X comes in three variants – S1 X+, S1 X (2kWh), and S1 X (3kWh). The S1 X+ is available to buy at Rs. 1,09,999 and its deliveries will begin next month. With their deliveries to begin in December, The S1 X (3kWh), and S1 X (2kWh) are priced at Rs. 99,999 and Rs. 89,999 respectively and deliveries will begin in December.
