The Kicks will be positioned above Terrano in the portfolio. Nissan officially revealed the concept version of Kicks in 2014 and the company introduced the production model in 2016. Even though Kicks was developed for emerging markets, the company has also launched the model in the US as a replacement for Juke.

Nissan kicked off the teaser campaign of Kicks with a couple of sketches and India-spec model will be slightly different to the global version as the company made some design tweaks at front and rear. The India-spec Kicks dimensions will be slightly bigger and it will help the company to offer more space inside the cabin.

The company decided to use low-cost M0 platform of Duster to keep cost down as the platform has been heavily localized for the Indian market. The global spec Kicks is based on advanced V-platform and it will be expensive to manufacture in India, which is why the company decided not to bring the new generation of Micra also.
