The model tested by ASEAN NCAP is powered by the 2.3 L diesel engine producing 190 PS at 3,750 rpm and 450 Nm of torque between 1,500 – 2,500 rpm. This engine is mated to either 7-speed automatic transmission or 6-speed manual gearbox. Nissan only offers the four-wheel-drive system in the top-end model as other variants get RWD.
The Terra comes with off-road specific features like hill-start assist, hill descent control, off-road meter, tyre pressure monitoring system and more. Nissan also offers Brake Limited Slip Differential (B-LSD) on the Terra, which will transfer power to the wheel which has most grip during slippery conditions.
The SUV also comes with 225 mm ground clearance as it is good enough for most of the driving conditions. The approach angle of Terra is 32.3 degree and departure angle is 26.6 degree. Nissan is expected to introduce the Terra in India next year and it will compete against Toyota Fortuner and Ford Endeavour.
