Diesel engines are popular among customers for its impressive torque output and better efficiency compared to petrol engines. But these engines produce more harmful gases and they are the major contributor for the pollution which is why most of the governments are either introducing stringent emission norms or stopping sales of diesel engine to reduce pollution.

The current Euro VI emissions norms and upcoming Bharat Stage VI norms will make these engines cleaner but manufacturers will have to spent lots of money on these engines to keep them upto date with new norms but they are not getting there money back as globally sales of diesel engines are coming down sharply.
