Nissan Micra CVT prices slashed; it’s now the most affordable CVT equipped hatchback in Indian market

Japanese automaker Nissan has announced the new pricing for the Micra CVT variants in India, which starts from Rs. 5.99 lakh. The XL variant of the Micra CVT is priced at Rs. 5.99 lakh presently which was earlier priced at Rs. 6,53,252; therefore the price has been slashed by Rs. 54,252.

The XV variant gets a new price tag of Rs. 6,73,500 which is Rs. 46,000 lesser than the previous price, as earlier it was priced at 7.19 lakh. The price slash came to materialized because of increased localization in the production of the car. Nissan Micra was first launched in the country in 2010 and the car has been the best selling model for the Japanese automaker.

Manufactured at Nissan’s Orgadam plant near Chennai the Micra CVT is equipped with the automaker’s globally acclaimed X-TRONIC CVT automatic transmission technology, which makes the driving experience funny and comfortable. With the price slash the Micra CVT has become the most affordable CVT model in the segment. Available in a total of 9 trims the car sold around 700 units per month.

Nissan Micra is offered in both petrol and diesel engine options and in 9 trims. The petrol powered Nissan Micra gets power from a 1.2 litre three cylinder engine which churns out 75 bhp of peak power at 6000 rpm and 104 Nm of peak torque at 4000 rpm. The fuel economy for this car stands at 19.34 kmpl. The petrol Micra is available with a 5 speed manual transmission as well.

On other hand the diesel Micra is powered by a 1.5 litre four cylinder inline engine which is mated to a 5 speed manual gearbox generating 65 bhp of peak power at 4000 rpm and 160 Nm of peak torque at 2000 rpm, and it offers a fuel economy of 23.08 kmpl.

 

Nissan Micra is the most exported made in India hatchback, which has sold more than 6 million units globally in more than 80 countries. Besides being peppy and fuel efficient the car also offers a good amount of safety features which include dual front airbags, ABS, EBD, BA, engine immobilizer, automatic climate control, push start/stop button, speed sensing door lock in the XV variant.
