The exterior design of India-spec Kicks is slightly different to the International model along with increased dimensions
Nissan officially revealed the India-spec Kicks yesterday and the market launch will take place in January. The India-spec Kicks is based on M0 platform of Renault Duster to keep cost down as the global model gets advanced V-platform, which underpin most of the new generation models from the company.
The interior is still under the wraps and here are top 10 things about the exterior.
1. Dimensions
The India-spec model is larger than global version thanks to the M0 platform and longer wheelbase of 2,673 mm. The length of India-spec Kicks increased by 89 mm to 4,384 mm, width by 53 mm to 1,813 mm and height by 60 mm to 1,650 mm. We can expect the compact SUV to offer good interior space for front and rear passengers.
2. Nissan Signature grille
Even though Nissan India has made some changes for the design, the compact SUV has retained the signature V-motion grille at front with Nissan logo on the centre and it gives an upmarket look for the compact SUV.
3. LED Projector Headlamps with DRLs
Nissan has given swept back design for the headlamps cluster and Kicks comes with LED projector headlamps with integrated DRLs in it. This headlamp setup is expected to give good illumination at night.
4. Front LED Fog Lamps
The compact SUV gets black plastic cladding running across the body and the Kicks comes with fog lamps placed on the lower part of the bumper. When compared to other models, the fog lamp is positioned really low and the bumper also gets faux skid plates.
5. 17-inch alloy wheels
The top-spec model of Kicks comes with 17-inch 5 spoke machined alloy wheels, which goes really well with the overall design of Kicks and lower spec model come with 16-inch wheels. The spare wheel is expected to be steel wheels to reduce cost.
6. Door Mounted ORVM with Indicators
Nissan has given a modern design for the ORVM and they are placed on the roof instead of A-pillar like most of the new cars as this design will help the company to reduce drag and the Kicks get integrated indicators on the ORVM.
7. Iconic Boomerang Tail lamps
The compact SUV gets a new boomerang design for the tail lamps and the company has given LEDs instead of conventional bulbs, which makes them look upmarket. The tail lamps extend towards the boot also.
8. Shark Fin Antenna
Like most of its rivals, the Kicks also come with shark fin antenna which looks much better than the conventional ones. This is one of the features, which has become standard on most of the new models in recent times.
9. Stylish Roof Rails
The company has given a new design for roof rails and it is finished in body colour like the rivals as this one of the most important features on a compact SUV.
10. Floating Roof
Nissan continued the same floating sporty roof line from the International model and the Kicks comes with dual tone finish in which the roof can be configured in a different colour to make the compact SUV look sporty.
