Nissan Kicks’ entry-level XL variant comes with several modern features and standard safety equipment
Nissan sells the Kicks premium SUV in a total of four variants. The XL, XV, XV Premium and XV Premium Plus are priced between Rs. 9.55 lakh and Rs. 14.65 lakh (ex-showroom introductory). Built on the updated B0 platform, the Kicks is heavily localised to have an aggressive price range.
It measures 4,384 mm long, 1,813 mm wide and stands 1,656 mm tall with wheelbase similar to Renault Captur at 2,673 mm. It has increased proportions compared to the international-spec model to avail a roomier cabin for Indian customers and comes with subtle exterior enhancements.
We have showed you pictures of the Kicks primarily in its two-tone Bronze Grey with Amber Orange roof and Fire Red with Onyx Black roof than any other colour. In fact, the Kicks is sold in seven single-tone shades such as Pearl White, Blade Silver, Bronze Grey, Amber Orange, Deep Blue Pearl, Night Shade, and Fire Red.
Besides the aforementioned paint schemes, two more dual-tone choices are also on offer. The base XL variant is retailed in both petrol and diesel engine options and it has now been spotted in Blade Silver mono-tone shade. Despite lacking the dynamism of the top-end versions, the XL does make for a good looking Kicks with blackened pillars and black themed wheel arch surroundings, body cladding and bumper section. It lacks chrome boot applique, aluminium skid plates up front and rear and other chrome garnishes.
It is not short of features either as halogen headlamps with LED Daytime Running Lights, shark fin antenna, 16-inch steel wheels with wheel covers, 2-DIN audio system with Nissan Connect and Bluetooth, single tone interior with fabric upholstery, six way adjustable driver seat, tilt adjust power steering, power windows, automatic air conditioning, rear AC vents and front armrest are present.
The standard safety features in the Kicks are Electronic Brake-force Distribution, impact sensing auto door unlock, central locking with speed sensing auto lock, Brake Assist, rear parking sensors, dual front airbags and Anti-lock braking System. Nissan has provided three-year warranty as standard with three-year service package comprising of roadside assistance and no-extra-cost maintenance. It can also be had through a subscription programme which commands Rs. 11 per kilometer.
