The second generation Grand i10 has been spotted with new 14-inch diamond cut alloy wheels as earlier test mule came with steel wheels
Hyundai is working on the second generation of Grand i10 as the current model was launched in 2013 and an update was given last year. The test mule has been spotted for the first time last month and it comes with steel wheels, but the latest spy shots reveal the new diamond cut alloy wheels of Grand i10.
The design of new four-spoke alloy wheels is different from the current model and looks attractive, but the test mule doesn’t come with projector headlamps as it gets regular halogen bulbs. The dashboard design appears to be completely new as we can see the touchscreen infotainment system placed on top of the dashboard.
This design theme is similar to what we have seen in new Hyundai models like the i30 and updated Elantra. We can expect this infotainment system to come with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity options. The steering wheel also gets a new design theme as it has controls for the music system and instrument cluster.
The top end variant of Grand i10 will come with lots of features like climate control, cooled glove box, rain sensing wiper, rear AC vents, rear camera with parking sensors, Bluetooth, USB charging ports, electronically controlled exterior mirrors with integrated indicators and may be wireless charging for the smartphone.
The upcoming hatchback will come with safety features like dual airbags, ABS with EBD, Brake Assist, Seatbelt reminder for both passenger and driver. We can expect Hyundai to make some changes for suspension as handling is not great for the current model. The new Grand i10 will be longer and wider than the outgoing model as it will improve space inside the cabin.
Hyundai might retain the current engine lineup, but these engines will be updated to meet BSVI emission norms. The 1.2 L Kappa engine produces 83 PS and 113.6 Nm, while the 1.2 L 3 cylinder U2 CRDi puts out 75 PS and 190 Nm. These engines will be mated to a 5-speed manual and AMT gearbox options. The second generation Grand i10 is expected to make its debut next year.
