Next-Generation Ford EcoSport Spied Again; Will Be More Premium And Feature Rich

The new Endeavour will be based on the new generation Fiesta platform and it is expected to come with lots of advanced features along with new engines

Ford is developing the next generation of EcoSport and the test mule has been spotted testing near the Article Circle in Scandinavia as part of the cold weather testing. The new EcoSport is going to be based on the same platform as the seventh generation Fiesta. The design theme of the new model will be completely different from the outgoing version.

The front gets new grille with swept-back headlamps and the design is not yet finalized as test mules have dummy lights. The fog lamps are placed slightly higher and the hood has been redesigned. The new model has high ground clearance, which gives an SUV look. The rear view mirrors are placed on the door instead of the A-pillar to reduce drag.

The side gets new alloy wheels and we can expect the company to offer 17 or 18-inch alloy wheels on top-spec models. The company has given coupe-like a design for the roof and the rear gets LED tail lamps along with a new bumper and integrated spoiler also. Overall, the new design theme gives an SUV coupe look for the new EcoSport.

The interior design takes inspiration from the new generation Fiesta as the steering wheel is a new three-spoke unit with controls for audio and other functions. The instrument cluster is also new but the company has given analogue dials instead of the digital console like some modern cars. The quality of materials is expected to be much better than the current model.

The centre console will get a new design and the company might offer an 8-inch touch screen infotainment system with the latest SYNC software. The connectivity options include Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The new EcoSport will be loaded with lots of features like climate control, cruise control, panoramic sunroof, leather seats and more.

Ford will also pack the EcoSport with latest safety gadget from other models. The engine options might be carried over from Fiesta with manual and auto gearbox options. Some reports have indicated that the company might give a new name for the EcoSport and it is likely to make its debut at Frankfurt Motor Show later this year.
