New Toyota Corolla Hybrid was launched in Australia with a price tag of AUD 26,990. With this pricing, Toyota Corolla Hybrid falls between the Corolla SX and Corolla ZR petrol hatchbacks. The car has been present in Europe under the name, Auris Hybrid.
This new Toyota Corolla Hybrid hatch launched in Australia is powered by a 1.8litre VVTi engine that has been sourced from Prius. The engine comes fitted with a 60kW electric motor. The battery used in this is a nickel metal hydride battery. With this, the new Toyota Corolla Hybrid delivers a combined power output of 134bhp.

The double wishbone rear suspension in the car gives it a very stable handling and a very comfortable drive. The Toyota Corolla Hybrid launched in Australia comes with electronically controlled brakes and can be driven in three driving modes that are Power, Economy and Electric.
Talking about the Toyota Corolla Hybrid Hatch launch in Australia, Tony Cramb, who is the Executive Director Sales, for Toyota Australia said that this is the third hybrid model to be introduced after Camry and the fourth generation Toyota Prius. He further added that this car offers the customers, world’s best-selling hybrid technology in the world’s all-time best-selling car.
