The new Mahindra Mojo comes minus the left silencer canister, EFI and USD fork

A new variant of the Mahindra Mojo has been spied near Lonavala, Maharashtra; which comes shedding the some features of the outgoing model. The test mule spotted was equipped with only one silencer canister. Whereas, the outgoing model gets dual silencers. Also the front fork is changed. Instead of the thick USD fork in the outgoing model, the test mule was spotted wearing regular telescopic fork.

Well, the changes are not over yet. The new variant will come with a carburetor instead of Electronic Fuel Injection (EFI) technology. It seems, Mahindra is gearing up to bring a low cost variant of the 300 cc motorcycle. This is why the new variant will come sans the features as a cost cutting attempt. No wonder, not having a silencer canister, USD fork and EFI will significantly reduce the price of the upcoming variant.

We have already spotted these visible changes in the test mule. Expect the production spec model to come with some more changes. To be precise minus some features, which will reduce the pricing. In that case, we might see the new variant sporting a different headlight assembly. The outgoing model gets twin headlamps with LED daytime running lights. Expect the DRLs to discontinue.

The Mahindra Mojo comes with some unique features. The motorcycle’s system records the top speed the rider reaches, and changes it every time the rider overlaps the mark. Expect such unique features to discontinue. The present model runs on expensive Pirelli Diablo Rosso II tyres. These tyres are supposed to be replaced with comparatively low profile MRF tyres.

On the powertrain front the 295 cc single cylinder liquid cooled engine will come unchanged though. With all these changes incorporated, Mahindra will be able to cater the product to a larger customer base. The outgoing model with all the features intact will also be offered like now. Expect the new variant to hit the market sometime next year.
