New Mahindra Marazzo has Clocked Decent Sales In First Month

The recently launched Mahindra Marazzo has clocked decent sales in the first months of its launch by finding 2,829 buyers

The Mahindra Marazzo MPV has found 2,839 buyers in its first month of launch, which makes it one of the most popular MPVs in the market. Launched at a starting price of Rs 9.99 lakh, the Mahindra Marazzo is the most advanced model in its company’s product lineup. It is available at a starting price of Rs 9.99 lakh and commands up to 45 days of waiting on select variants.

Mahindra and Mahindra is said to be wishing a higher sales figure, with sales of 4,000 units every month. By the start of the next financial year, the company targets a monthly sales average of more than 7,000 units. To meet this higher projected demand, the company has even planned to ramp up the production.

Dr PawanGoenka, Managing Director, Mahindra and Mahindra’s automotive division, has already confirmed that the company targets a monthly sales average of at least 8,500 units from its three new vehicles – Marazzo, XUV700, and S201.

Powering the Mahindra is a 1.5-litre turbo diesel engine that pumps out a maximum power of 121 bhp at 3,500 rpm and a peak torque of 300 Nm between 1,750 rpm and 2,500 rpm. The engine comes mated to a 6-speed manual transmission. The new model’s ARAI-certified fuel efficiency is rated at 17.3 kmpl.

It has an unconventional transversely mounted engine that sends power to the front wheels.This one of a kind patented architecture has resulted into a low floor height and a flat floor along with the ruggedness of a ladder-frame setup.

The Mahindra Marazzo has a shark-inspired design that is the work of a joint venture between Mahindra’s Kandivali-based design centre and Pininfarina. The new model is also the first vehicle to be jointly developed by Mahindra North American Technical Centra (MNATC) in Michigan, USA and Mahindra Research Valley (MRV) in Chennai, India.
