Mahindra BE 6e boasts a claimed range of 682 km per charge and is loaded with modern features and technologies including Level 2+ ADAS
Mahindra & Mahindra recently introduced the BE 6e in India, alongside the XEV 9e, during the ‘Unlimit India’ event in Chennai. The BE 6e, with a starting price of Rs. 18.90 lakh (ex-showroom), is built on Mahindra’s advanced INGLO platform. The launch represents a significant milestone in the automaker’s push toward electric mobility, positioning these models as flagship EVs in Mahindra’s expanding lineup.
The BE 6e, earlier referred to as the BE 05, is a fully electric five-seater coupe SUV that embodies Mahindra’s dedication to innovative design and advanced technology. Showcasing a new BE logo, it boasts striking C-shaped LED DRLs framing the headlamps and a unique glass roof that enhances its visual appeal. The interior continues the modern theme, featuring a driver-centric layout with a twin-spoke steering wheel adorned by an illuminated logo and dual-screen displays.
The cabin of the Mahindra BE 6e is crafted to deliver a luxurious and user-friendly experience, combining intuitive controls with a roomy ambience. Advanced tech features include wireless device charging, seven airbags, HUD, a 360-degree camera system, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, type-c charging ports, 16-speaker audio and ambient lighting that creates a soothing atmosphere.

The Mahindra BE 6e comes fitted with an electronic parking brake featuring an auto-hold function. It also boasts an auto-dimming IRVM and multiple selectable drive modes, allowing drivers to tailor their driving experience. Enhancing safety and driver assistance is an advanced Level 2+ ADAS suite that incorporates the latest technologies. In terms of performance, the BE 6e is available with two battery pack options: a 59 kWh unit and a larger 79 kWh variant.
Both battery options are engineered to accommodate fast charging at speeds of up to 175 kW, enabling the vehicle to charge from 20 to 80 per cent in just 20 minutes. The Mahindra BE 6e boasts impressive dimensions and functionality, with an overall ground clearance of 207 mm and a battery ground clearance of 218 mm, ensuring excellent capability across varied terrains. Measuring 4,371 mm in length, the EV also offers ample storage, featuring a boot capacity of 455 litres and an additional 45 litres in the frunk. These figures surpass those of several high-end luxury vehicles available in India.

Incorporating advanced brake-by-wire technology, the BE 6e delivers enhanced stopping power, coming to a halt from 100 kmph in just 40 meters. This system not only boosts safety but also improves brake energy recuperation by 18 per cent, contributing to extended driving range and greater efficiency.
The 79 kWh battery pack in the Mahindra BE 6e offers an impressive ARAI-certified range of 682 km on a single charge, making it a standout in its segment. Mahindra also guarantees over 500 km of real-world range per charge, even with the air conditioning running, making it a practical choice for urban commuters in metro cities.
However, it’s worth noting that the vehicle’s price does not include the cost of the charger and its installation, which will be an additional expense for buyers. Deliveries of the BE 6e are slated to commence between late February and March 2025. The Mahindra BE 6e boasts a cabin layout designed with the driver in mind, drawing inspiration from fighter jets with thruster-like controls that add a futuristic touch.
Similar to the XEV 9e, the BE 6e comes loaded with an extensive array of features, making it one of the most technologically advanced models in its class. Highlights include a multi-zone climate control system, customizable drive modes, wireless charging for devices, and a high-end infotainment setup powered by Mahindra Sonic Studio.
Additionally, the BE 6e integrates connected car technology and an AI-powered interface. The cabin also features a panoramic sunroof. An intriguing aspect of the 6e is its sophisticated wiring system, which spans an impressive three kilometres in length. This complex network includes over 2,000 circuits and 36 ECUs, underscoring the engineering precision that Mahindra has invested in this EV.
