The new Kia K4 will make its world premiere at the New York International Auto Show next week before going on sale in the international markets

The all-new Kia K4 has made its global debut ahead of its first official showcase at the New York International Auto Show next week. Inspired by Kia’s ‘Opposites United’ design philosophy, and in particular the ‘Power to Progress’ pillar, the exterior boasts a modern and unique body shape courtesy of what Kia calls the ‘Twist Logic’.

The flow of light created between the alternating squares emphasises the shape that runs through the entire body design as evident from the side profile. The sweptback finish goes perfectly with the progressive nature of the design. At the front, it features vertical LED headlamps, positioned at the extreme edges of the facial area while the Daytime Running Lights integrate with horizontal chrome strips.

The latest iteration of Kia’s star map lighting tech creates a further evolution of the signature Tiger Face. The vertical LED lamps, positioned at the extreme ends of the sedan, cut downwards towards a wide bumper with the air diffuser incorporated into it. Instead of the traditional form of driver orientation of screens and controls angled towards the driver, the new cabin separates the driver from the passenger with a bold graphic split.

The K4 boasts a distinct separation between the driver cockpit and the passenger cabin, providing occupants with a tailored experience. A variety of direct and indirect lighting options are available to illuminate the premium cabin according to individual preferences. The dashboard features a prominent central screen and an elegant central console, with minimal physical buttons and controls, contributing to a sleek and modern interior aesthetic.

The K4 offers a slew of new seat trims, materials, patterns, and colours, ranging from Medium Gray and Slate Green to Canyon Brown and Onyx Black. Kia has not revealed any technical details of the 2024 K4 but the Honda Civic and Toyota Corolla rival could be offered in multiple powertrain options including a 1.6L turbo four-cylinder engine and a hybrid.

However, no electric variant will be available anywhere across the globe. The Korean manufacturer is currently working on bringing in smaller EV4 and EV5 models over the next two years.
